Large Flask
Molding

Most of the molds produced in the large flask molding area are manufactured with loose patterns while only one-third are core assemblies. Thanks to the Furan process, cores that are too large to be handled in the Core Room can be produced on the molding line.

Midwest's large flask molding floor produces castings up to 38,000 pounds. Ten to 12-inch section sizes are typical while the maximum casting envelope can range up to 12' x 18' x 6'.
